STC and HKCC Annual Event: 2025 Certificate Award Ceremony cum Product Safety Carnival

[7 June 2025, Hong Kong] Hong Kong's economy is undergoing rapid transformation. The silver economy is one of the sectors receiving increasing attention, bringing focus many relevant daily products, such as healthcare products, food, electronics, etc. The enormous business potential is calling on local businesses and brands to continuously produce high-quality, safe and green products to stay competitive. To promote local quality brands, enhance public awareness of product safety and strengthen support for Brand Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (STC) and the Hong Kong Certification Centre (HKCC) jointly hosted the 2025 Certificate Award Ceremony and Product Safety Carnival, which officially opened on Friday, 6 June, at Citywalk Phase 1 in Tsuen Wan. The ceremony attracted over 400 representatives from businesses, government officials and the public, creating a vibrant and star-studded atmosphere.

This year, STC was honoured to invite Mr. CHEUK Wing-hing, GBS, JP, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, as the guest of honour at the ceremony. Mr. CHEUK stated in his speech, "STC has kept pace with changing domestic and international markets over the past decades, offering diversified testing and certification services tailored for market needs. As an independent third-party gatekeeper of product and service quality standards, STC has helped businesses, large and small, expand into various markets. With Hong Kong as its base, STC has established branches and offices in multiple locations, promoting the advantages of Hong Kong testing and certification globally and reinforcing Hong Kong’s story." He further emphasised that independent third-party testing and certification organisations play a key role in setting quality standards for products, helping drive local elderly-care product certification to enhance credibility and attractiveness. By strengthening protection for silver consumers, these efforts align with government policies to boost the silver economy, supporting the broader promotion of "quality assurance of silver products". Following his speech, Mr. CHEUK presented certificates to the 44 companies that achieved HKCC certification this year and interacted with exhibiting companies to understand more about the current retail market trends.

Additionally, in alignment with China’s high-quality development strategy, STC has gradually expanded its laboratories and offices into key economic regions across the country. STC Chairman, Mr. Ton Mr. Tom TONG, JP, shared in his speech, "Over the past year, STC has collaborated closely with multiple provincial and city governments in mainland China, assisting businesses in using our certification services to launch their products in the Greater Bay Area and various international markets."

Additionally, “Midlife, Sing & Shine!" star guest Ramon Ko made a special appearance to show his support for the event. He encouraged the public to purchase certified quality products and delivered a captivating live performance, leaving fans and guests enchanted and bringing the event to the climax. In addition to the Award Certificate Ceremony, the Product Safety Carnival exhibition is on from 6 to 12 June (Friday to Thursday) for citizens to purchase quality products certified by HKCC.

STC and HKCC Annual Event Invitation: 2025 Certificate Award Ceremony cum Product Safety Carnival

To raise awareness of product safety and certification among various sectors of society and to provide brands with opportunities of networking and promotion, STC and HKCC will be holding the 2025 Certificate Award Ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on 6 June 2025 (Friday) at Citywalk Phase 1, followed by the seven-day Product Safety Carnival.

We are honoured to have invited CHEUK Wing-hing, GBS, JP, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, to officiate at the Certificate Award Ceremony and present certificates to the clients who have achieved certification. Ramon LO, a star guest from "Midlife, Sing & Shine!" of TVB, will also join the event with singing performance, live interaction and sharing product safety messages together with STC and HKCC. We invite guests across sectors and the public to the event, and media are welcome to attend the ceremony to learn about the latest developments in product safety awareness and certification in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Safety Mark Scheme (HKSM) was launched in 1998 and has been widely recognized by the public for over 25 years. With the aim to improve the creditability of HKSM, HKCC will regularly review the Scheme to ensure its continual suitability while adapting to the international certification trends and practices. Hong Kong Certification Centre and Korea Testing and Research Institute – MOU Signing

【27 March 2024, Guangdong, China】 Hong Kong Certification Centre (HKCC), a subsidiary of Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (STC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Testing and Research Institute (KTR). KTR’s president and a delegation of top management from Korea attended the signing ceremony held in STC (Guangdong).

The MOU is related to the cooperation and exchange in three major fields, including the biodegradability-related testing and certification, the ECO-related testing and certification, as well as the technical information exchange and business promotion. In addition to signing the MOU, the delegation also visited the laboratories of STC (Guangdong). They deeply admired STC's leading testing techniques and sophisticated testing equipment, and expressed that they would work closely with STC and HKCC to foster business development in testing and certification.
